Join thought leaders on tech startup funding needs and regional workforce development strategies for Fraser Valley entrepreneurs, which are among the main themes and the focal points for this year’s XLRator’s Tech Forum 2019
Chilliwack, British Columbia, August 6, 2019 – Fraser Valley’s most established tech hub, XLRator, is set to host the 3rd annual Fraser Valley Tech Forum in Chilliwack in partnership with Chilliwack Economic Partners Corporation (CEPCO).
Following the success of the Fraser Valley Tech Forum in 2018 with around 200 attendees, the event aims to attract tech startups, government, academia, tech influencers, and community stakeholders to come together and foster growth and innovation within the local tech sector.
This year’s event theme will concentrate on discussing funding needs for Fraser Valley startups and how startups and businesses raise funds to grow. The event will focus on questions and answers on all aspects of the tech ecosystem. A panel of members from municipalities, tech companies, startups, and entrepreneurs will provide information on how to start, grow, and scale businesses and grow the tech ecosystem within the Fraser Valley.
The second phase of the event will be directed towards seed funding. Led by distinguished individuals with experience on the subject, questions and insights regarding the raising of seed funds and ways to invest in startups will be provided.
XLRator is thrilled to have CEPCO on board as this year’s event strategic partner. With a purpose to help create economic growth in the city of Chilliwack by facilitating business growth and development within the community, CEPCO has been assisting businesses since 1998. Both organizations have aligned ambitions to grow and support the business community within the Fraser Valley.
“We are pleased to have partnered with XLRator as there is significant potential for growth in the technology sector in the Fraser Valley,” said Brian Coombes, CEPCO President. “Consistently we hear about the challenges associated with businesses raising funds and attracting a skilled workforce, so this year’s event theme should be very beneficial for those that can attend,” added Coombes.
“XLRator aims to build the best tech ecosystem in B.C. by supporting the fast-growing tech sector and providing opportunities to engage, learn and network with the best minds from the industry,” said Gurwinder Singh, Program Manager at XLRator. “Based in the heart of Downtown Chilliwack, the Chilliwack.net group officially became XLRator’s satellite chapter in early 2019. This provides the opportunity to ignite young minds, foster innovation, and engage in conversations on building and scaling tech companies in the Fraser Valley.”
XLRator is a social enterprise with a goal to build a thriving tech ecosystem in the Fraser Valley with recent partnership announcements, with Google and Valhalla Angel Investor to provide resources to Fraser Valley tech entrepreneurs. XLRator is a coalition of tech companies, entrepreneurs, local government, industry partners, and educational institutions focused on attracting tech-based investment into the Fraser Valley, including the District of Mission, City of Abbotsford, City of Chilliwack, City of Maple Ridge and the Township of Langley.
Incorporated in 1998 as a private company under the BC Companies Act, CEPCO’s sole purpose is to help create economic growth in the city of Chilliwack.
